Global trade safeguards set another record: As of the middle of this month, WTO members issued 45 notices of trade safeguards within six months.
According to the first financial reporter learned from authoritative channels, at the regular meeting of the WTO Trade Security Committee held on November 18th local time, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Australia, the United States and China expressed their increasing use of safeguards to WTO members General concern.
During the same period, the WTO also released the latest Goods Trade Barometer (Goods Trade Barometer), which reads 96.6 (reference value 100), the previous value of 95.7. The WTO warns that although the data has improved, the overall trade in goods will continue to weaken in the fourth quarter of 2019.
In the latest global trade growth forecast, the WTO lowered the growth rate of trade in 2019 to 1.2%, and predicted that the growth rate of global trade in 2020 will be 2.7% (3% in 2018).
